Chemlease 255 Release Agent

Chemlease 255 Release Agent is a solvent‑based, semi‑permanent, abrasion‑resistant release for plastic and rubber moulding (except silicone rubber). It forms a micro‑thin film for excellent mould reproduction with minimal fouling, delivering high slip, high temperature stability and minimal transfer. Apply 3 base coats (10–15 minutes between), cure 1 hour ambient or 10 minutes at ≥100°C. Touch-up as needed.

Applications

Composite Moulding

Chemlease 255 Release Agent is suited to plastic and rubber moulding processes (excluding silicone rubber) where a durable, semi‑permanent release film is needed to support consistent demoulding and reduce mould build‑up. It can be applied to clean moulds from ambient to 200°C and used by wipe, brush or spray depending on mould temperature and process preference. For best performance, tclean the mould thoroughly using Chemlease® Mold Cleaner EZ, then applying three thin base coats with 10–15 minutes cure between coats and a longer final cure (minimum 1 hour at ambient or 10 minutes at ≥100°C) to maximise releases and minimise transfer. Apply light touch‑ups as required to maintain release.
