Chemlease R&B EZ Release Agent is a HAPs‑free* semi‑permanent mould release for composite moulding. Designed for extremely high slip in closed moulding of abrasive, low‑draft parts, it supports a quality finish across resins incl. polyester, vinyl ester, DCPD, phenolic, epoxy and BMI. Apply 4–5 coats with 15 min between and 30 min final cure; touch up as needed. Wipe-on/wipe-off or spray.
For best results, prepare the mould by removing wax, release agents, sealers and buffing compounds, then do a final clean with Chemlease® Mold Cleaner EZ and seal the mould with Chemlease® 15 Sealer EZ. Apply Chemlease R&B EZ Release Agent by wiping a smooth continuous film onto small sections (up to 0.6 m² at a time), then wipe off as the solvent begins to evaporate, leaving the surface dry and clear; build 4–5 coats, allowing 15 minutes between coats and 30 minutes final cure before production. If spraying, keep the nozzle 25–38 cm from the mould, apply a thin continuous film (avoid runs/drips), wipe excess, apply 3–5 coats with 15 minutes between coats, then cure 30 minutes after the final coat. For ongoing production, use a preventative maintenance touch-up strategy rather than waiting for parts to stick. As the SDS classifies the product as highly flammable and includes health/environmental hazard statements, follow site controls for ventilation, ignition sources and PPE, and consult the SDS before use.
