Chemlease R&B EZ Release Agent

Chemlease R&B EZ Release Agent is a HAPs‑free* semi‑permanent mould release for composite moulding. Designed for extremely high slip in closed moulding of abrasive, low‑draft parts, it supports a quality finish across resins incl. polyester, vinyl ester, DCPD, phenolic, epoxy and BMI. Apply 4–5 coats with 15 min between and 30 min final cure; touch up as needed. Wipe-on/wipe-off or spray.

Applications

Composite Moulding Polyester Vinyl Ester DCPD Phenolic Epoxy BMI

For best results, prepare the mould by removing wax, release agents, sealers and buffing compounds, then do a final clean with Chemlease® Mold Cleaner EZ and seal the mould with Chemlease® 15 Sealer EZ. Apply Chemlease R&B EZ Release Agent by wiping a smooth continuous film onto small sections (up to 0.6 m² at a time), then wipe off as the solvent begins to evaporate, leaving the surface dry and clear; build 4–5 coats, allowing 15 minutes between coats and 30 minutes final cure before production. If spraying, keep the nozzle 25–38 cm from the mould, apply a thin continuous film (avoid runs/drips), wipe excess, apply 3–5 coats with 15 minutes between coats, then cure 30 minutes after the final coat. For ongoing production, use a preventative maintenance touch-up strategy rather than waiting for parts to stick. As the SDS classifies the product as highly flammable and includes health/environmental hazard statements, follow site controls for ventilation, ignition sources and PPE, and consult the SDS before use.

Key Features

FEATURE
DESCRIPTION
Extremely High Slip for Tough Demoulding
Developed for situations where extremely high slip is required - commonly “B” sides in closed moulding and low-draft geometries.
Built for Abrasive, Low-Draft Parts (Closed Moulding)
Used primarily for closed moulding of abrasive, low-draft parts, while still supporting a quality finish.
Broad Resin Compatibility
Suitable with many common composite moulding resins including polyester, vinyl ester, DCPD, phenolic, epoxy and BMI (among others).
HAPs-Free* & No Class I/II Ozone-Depleting Substances
HAPs are not formula constituents, and the solvent carriers contain no Class I/II ozone‑depleting substances.
High Heat Tolerance & Durability
Product positioning highlights high heat tolerance and high durability typical of Chemlease semi-permanent products.
Flexible Application: Wipe or Spray
Supports both wipe-on/wipe-off and spray application methods, helping fit different shop-floor processes.

*HAPs are not formula constituents of this product. Standard manufacturing processes may result in trace quantities [<0 .1%] of HAPs. Please view TDS for more information.
