Chemlease IM 9100 Release Agent

Chemlease IM 9100 Release Agent is an internal release system and lubricant, added to resin to reduce reliance on external release agents. Designed for non‑gel‑coated unsaturated polyester and epoxy resins, it improves flow and supports hot/cold processing, vacuum injection and injection moulding. Parts can often be painted or bonded without post-cleaning.

Applications

Hot/Cold Processing Vacuum Injection Injection Moulding

Chemlease IM 9100 Release Agent is used as an internal release additive for non‑gel‑coated polyester and epoxy resin systems where you want to reduce dependence on external release agents and improve resin flow in production. It is suited to multiple manufacturing routes – hot/cold processing, vacuum injection and injection moulding – and can support cleaner parts that are typically easier to paint or bond without extensive post-cleaning associated with conventional external releases. In practice, it’s mixed into the resin and used alongside appropriate mould preparation/conditioning steps as required for your process, with part‑property testing recommended to confirm suitability.

Key Features

FEATURE
DESCRIPTION
Internal Release & Lubrication (Add-to-Resin)
Works as an internal release system and lubricant mixed directly into the resin to reduce dependency on external release agents.
Optimised for Non‑Gel‑Coated Polyester & Epoxy
Primarily used for non‑gel‑coated polyester and epoxy resins, developed specifically for non‑gel‑coated parts and unsaturated polyester/epoxy production.
Supports Multiple Processing Methods
Suitable for hot and cold processing, vacuum injection, and injection moulding, providing flexibility across common composite manufacturing routes.
Improved Resin Flow
Helps impart better flow properties to the resin, supporting more consistent processing and fill behaviour.
Paint & Bond Friendly Outcomes
Moulded parts are generally able to be painted and bonded without post-cleaning operations typically needed with conventional external releases.
Simple Treat Rate Guidance
Typical addition level is 0.5–1.0% by weight, blended into the resin until homogeneous (actual ratio can vary by resin and should be user‑evaluated).
